Marigolds, also known as red-eyed hawks, have been growing wild in the United States for generations, but they have been restricted to certain states.
They were introduced in New Jersey in 2002, and now, according to the National Wildflower Center, more than 50 million of the wild flowers have been planted on state lands and over 1.4 billion seeds have been distributed.
They are now being planted across the country.
This year, the National Park Service, which oversees the state parks in the Northeast, is planning to release a new crop, the first in more than a century.
“They’re wild, but we don’t have a lot of space for them,” said Amy Stelzer, the national parks program manager for the National Parks Conservation Association.
“There’s just so much to manage, so many people coming in, so much space.”
This new crop is called Marigold Flower Eaters.
It has a deep red head, but it’s not a common sight in New York.
It’s a new variety of the Marigldflower, named for the Mariglione flower shop that has been serving it for generations.
It was introduced in the 1980s and has become popular in the U.S. since, with thousands of varieties popping up.
They come in a wide range of colors, and can grow to 20 feet tall, making them one of the largest wildflowers in the world.
There are about 40 varieties of Marigled flowers growing in New Mexico, and some are nearly 100 feet tall.
“It’s really quite beautiful,” Stelter said.
“This is not something that was just imported into New Mexico and planted in a field.
It had to come to New Mexico from a breeding stock.”
The New Mexico Department of Agriculture has also released a new plant for use in the state’s parks, a hybrid of the red-winged flycatcher and the red marigled flower.
Steler said the hybrids are “really hard to distinguish from the wild plant,” so it was important to work with the state department to make sure they were the right size and look.
“The new species is about the size of a quarter,” Stelser said.
The Department of Parks and Recreation has been working with the New Mexico Division of Agriculture to release the new Marigloes, so that they can be planted in the parks in 2019.
Stelster said that while the Mariggled are growing well, they are not yet the largest native species.
“We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves,” she said.
Still, they will be an important part of the landscape for a long time.
“In some areas, they can survive very well in the winter,” Stellers said.
In the future, she said, she would like to see more varieties planted.
“Hopefully they’ll stay around for decades.”
